For musicians, Billy Gray was the inventor of the F-1 guitar pick and has been involved in 'Speedway' Motorcycle Racing as a fierce Competitor during the 70s, 80s & 90s. His 'Speedway' Bike was known as the 'Orange Crate Special', then later as the "Orange Blossom Special." The name was given to Billy's bike by the Announcer at Irwindale Raceway due to the solid orange rims that Billy used on his 'Speedway Bike'.
But this Los Angeles resident is best known as "Bud' the teenage son of Robert Young & Jane Wyatt in the archetypal 1950s family sitcom Father Knows Best (1954). You may also remember him as Bryan Foy in The Seven Little Foys (1955) singing and dancing along side Bob Hope.
Even before these roles Billy had been a child star since the age of 6. His best known role is as Bobby Benson, the inquisitive son of Patricia Neal in The Day the Earth Stood Still (1951). Ninty-seven film and TV roles are credited to Billy on IMDB. More than any other juvenile actor he represents the more innocent days of the 40's, 50's & 60's.
