Born in Bedford, Texas as Cameron Michael Boyd, he is the younger brother of Jenna Boyd, son of a Navy pilot.

Is real-life friends with fellow actors Taylor Dooley and Taylor Lautner. The three became friends on the set of The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D (2005).

After completing Mystic River (2003), his parents did not allow him to watch the film, because of his young age at the time (he was age eight at the time of production, and age nine at the time of U.S. release), and the violent nature of the film. His parents only allowed him to watch selected scenes, including the scenes in which he appeared.

He went on to film Have Dreams Will Travel (2007) working along side young newcommer Annasophia Robb. You'll also see him in Fireflies in the Garden (2008) with such stars as Julia Roberts, Willem Dafoe and child stars Emily Watson & Chase Ellison.

Trivia: Loves football, wants to grow up and be an animal traner at Sea World and once modeled Winnie-the-Pooh clothing for a JC Penney catalog.
