Roger Mobley was drafted in 1968, went to Vietnam as a Green Beret, married his high school sweetheart Shari in 1970, had three children, and eventually found a job with the Police Department as an Undercover narcotics officer. Roger is now a Pastor in a Bible Church in Texas, he has been married for 33 years and is the father of three children, and five grandchildren. But who is Roger Mobley?

Born in Evansville, Indiana in 1949, Roger at one-time was Disney's favorite young actor. He was one of eight talented children who could sing and play musical instruments and was the novelty portion of an act (at age 3) of a singing trio, which included an older brother and sister. Performing in carnivals and fairs, the kids eventually made an appearance on "The Ted Mack Show" where a talent agent spotted Roger and signed him up for low-budget features and eventually to a regular role on the Fury TV series (1957) -- he stayed with the show for almost three years. He played Packy Lambert, the young neighbor of Joey Newton and his black stallion Fury (Packy owned a pony named Lucky and was always in some sort of trouble that Fury helped him get out of). Mobley also guest starred on other TV shows such as National Velvet (1961), Gunsmoke (1961), Wagon Train (1961-1963) and Dragnet (1967), although in his guest-starring roles he often played a bad kid.

He soon became the new teen star at Disney replacing an out-of-favor Tommy Kirk. Finding modest popularity as the amateur junior sleuth Gallagher for three seasons on Walt Disney's Wonderful World of Color's "Emil and the Detectives" (1964-1968). He attempted a few feature films including Dime with a Halo (1963), Jack the Giant Killer (1962) and even The Comancheros (1961) with John Wayne.

Roger had a small comeback in 1979 in Disney's The Apple Dumpling Gang Rides Again. In his later years while watching episodes of Fury he told his youngest daughter: "Life can't get any better than that for a kid. I spent the summer riding horses and going swimming and got paid for it. It was absolutely wonderful".....
