Description The film follows the story of Duncan, a fifteen-year old misfit farm boy Duncan (Emile Hirsch) trying to fill the void and alleviate the numbness left by his mother's passing. Unable to let her go quite yet, Duncan mimics his dead mother. He talks in her voice at the dinner table and wears her fur coat to bed. (and also has a peculiar relationship with a live chicken).
Edgar, Duncan's sixty year old, distant father, doesn't understand the strange manifestations of his son's mourning. Why can't Duncan grieve like a normal person? Edgar becomes intent on laying down some new rules and turning his coddled son into someone who can take on the family farm. But Duncan spends his days aimlessly wandering around the countryside until he meets and falls in love with Perry, a neighbor boy who is kind to him in private, yet teases him when with his buddies.
Duncan's father thinks it's great that his son has found some new friends, but sinister motives are at work and Perry's concealed personality threatens to destroy the lines between love and friendship. A Gay & Lesbian Film festival favorite! Highly recommended!
