Description

Casey (Nathan Forrest Winters), roughly twelve, has had a phobia of clowns since he was a little kid. His oldest sibling, Randy (Sam Rockwell), loves to tease him about it, while Geoffrey (Brian McHugh) sticks up for and frequently defends his younger brother. The three must cease their bickering and ban together when some lunatics break out of a local insane asylum and go on a neighborhood murdering spree..., dressed up as -- Can you guess? -- clowns! Who will kill who before the night is over? Really just a mild slasher-flick, but it is nicely directed. Also, the three boys are quiet believable as brothers, do a decent job expressing sibling rivalry as well as concern. The controversy: Director Victor Salva was arrested shortly after making this movie for having performed oral sex on Winters. A number of years later and following a period of incarceration, the man found his successful film Powder an issue of controversy, Winters protesting Disney for having released it, stating Salva should not be allowed to work in the film industry ever again.
